Biodiversity and climate change in agricultural areas
Agricultural activities shape the landscapes and define the structure of the Grand Est region. The decline in biodiversity and climate change are undermining the balance of agricultural areas; farming practices must therefore adapt. Integrating biodiversity into these areas is a key challenge for preserving the sustainability and resources of these environments.

By establishing and supporting a network of 40 pilot farms in the implementation of agroecological practices (hedgerows, ponds, tree lines), whilst balancing biodiversity with economic constraints.
By assessing the impact of climate change on permanent grassland in the Grand Est region and by supporting the introduction of schemes to reward farmers for good farming practices.
By identifying grassland species that can adapt to climate change and by developing a supply chain for local wild seeds.
