The LIFE programme, the European Union’s funding instrument dedicated to environmental protection
Since 1992, the European Commission has been providing European funding to support projects related to environmental challenges. Currently, the LIFE programme encompasses various project categories, covering climate change adaptation and biodiversity preservation.
Since 2022, the European Commission has been funding 60% of the LIFE Biodiv’Est project.
This also means that LIFE projects align with European strategies for the preservation of natural heritage, structured around the Priority Action Framework and Natura 2000.
Co-fundig at Regional Level
With more than €26 million committed over a decade, the LIFE IP Biodiv’Est programme additionally receives co-financing from the six members of the Régional Biodiversity Collective.
